Registration for LTS Spring Ice is Now Open
The Bismarck Figure Skating Club is independently managed by the club member elected Board of Directors. The Club is also supported by Program Directors, support staff, and volunteer committee members.
All members of the Board of Directors are registered with the USFS and in full compliance with rules of the USFSA. The officers of the Club include a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. The Board also includes four Members-At-Large.
The Bismarck Figure Skating Club holds monthly board meetings. Meeting locations are typically held at the VFW Curling Room (other locations may change depending on room availability). Active members in good standing of BFSC are welcome to attend board meetings.

The President of the Bismarck Figure Skating Club is a volunteer position as voted on by the Club’s Members. The term of office is 2 years.
The President’s responsibilities include:
Serve as the principal executive officer of the Bismarck Figure Skating Club
Subject to the control of the Board of Directors
Supervise and manage the business and affairs of the Bismarck Figure Skating Club
Attends and presides over all meetings of the members and of the directors
Supervises and manages the business and affairs of the Club
Offer strategic direction for the Executive Committee
Leads the Club’s annual meeting
Supports transition to a successor when term is complete
Maintains the club constitution and by-laws.
The BFSC President has the power to:
Sign, with the Secretary or any other officer of the club authorized by the directors, any agreements, contracts, or other instruments which the directors have approved.
Temporarily suspend any member for violating the bylaws or regulations of the Club pending action by the Board of Directors
Call special meetings of the members or the directors
Perform all duties incident to the office of President and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Directors from time to time.
The Vice President of the Bismarck Figure Skating Club is a volunteer position as voted on by the Club’s Members. The term of office is 2 years.
The Vice President’s responsibilities include:
Assist the President in their duties and in their absence assume their duties
Stands-in for Club President as necessary at Club events and functions
Attends Board Meetings
Leads task forces or special committees as assigned by the President
Supports transition to a successor when term is complete
The Secretary of the Bismarck Figure Skating Club is a volunteer position as voted on by the Club’s Members. The term of office is 2 years.
The position’s responsibilities include:
Keep the minutes of all the meetings of the club and the Board of Directors
Submit meeting minutes in a timely manner to be published on the club website and sent via email
Prepare and submit press releases to the Bismarck Tribune and radio stations as needed
Oversee routine review and maintenance to the Membership Handbook and Operations Manual as changes are requested
Supports transition to a successor when term is complete
Current Treasurer: Missy Siefert
The Treasurer of the Bismarck Figure Skating Club is a volunteer position elected by the Club’s Members. The term of office is 2 years.
Responsibilities:
In charge of the funds of the club.
Attends Monthly Board Meetings for the BFSC.
Regularly collects all BFSC mail in PO Box/Club Mailbox and distributes it accordingly.
Holds an Executive Leadership role on Club’s Board of Directors.
Remains the primary point of contact for financial questions from volunteers and members.
Oversees financial transactions made on behalf of BFSC.
Compiles cash receipts listing for the bookkeeper.
Runs deposits to the bank.
Delivers bills to the bookkeeper for payment.
Coordinates execution and disbursement of checks.
Ensures all cash disbursements have proper documentation attached in QuickBooks.
Compiles and reviews monthly and annual financials.
Works with the CPA firm to complete and file the 990 return timely.
Works with the CPA firm to complete the annual charitable return timely.
Works with the CPA firm to execute 1099 forms timely.
Compiles and files the organizational annual report.
Monitors fundraisers and executes quid pro quo disclosures when needed.
Reports biweekly payroll hours to Fronteer Payroll.
Works with directors to obtain required employee documentation for Fronteer Payroll.
Works with directors on creating annual program budgets.
Tracks budgets throughout the year.
Increases debit card limits as needed.
Follows up on aging accounts receivable.
Members-At-Large are volunteer positions on the Board of the Bismarck Figure Skating Club. The Club inclues 4 Members At Large. This position is a volunteer position as voted on by the Club’s Members.
The term of office is 2 years.
The position’s responsibilities include:
Serves as an active board member who represents the club and their interests
Attends and has voting rights at General Monthly Meetings
Fiduciary oversight of the Club’s activities, including review and approval of annual budgets
Develop and hold strategy vision for BFSC
Ensure the BFSC’s mission is supported through Club’s activities
Evenly represent the interests of all Club programs in all discussion and strategic decisions
Join a task force or special committee, if requested, by Club President
Lead or assist committees assigned by the President
Supports transition to a successor when term is complete
