Registration for LTS Spring Ice is Now Open
United States Figure Skating’s Aspire Program helps beginning figure skaters make the transition from Learn To Skate group lessons into U.S. Figure Skating membership. Aspire is intended to keep skaters on the ice and teach young athletes and their families what it means to be a figure skater.
Aspire gets its name from the character development words that best represent Aspire athletes and represent what skating teaches all of us:
Attitude | Sportsmanship | Perseverance | Integrity | Respect | Effort
These classes offer a supportive group training environment that keeps costs down and motivation high as skaters acquire new skills, develop good practice habits and learn the fundamentals of on and off-ice training alongside their peers.

The Aspire Bridge Program is an invite-only program for Aspire skaters that are ready to work on beginner-level Skating Skills and Dance patterns. This program introduces and prepares skaters to take their first tests of the Advanced Skating Program and is an additional class that is to be taken in conjunction to Aspire Group Lessons.
Advanced coaching staff has limited availability to take on new students throughout the year. This supplemental Aspire program is designed to empower and challenge skaters to grow and advance through beginner level testing before they move to the Advanced Program.
Bridge Program class size is limited to accommodate the best learning environment to fine-tune tests and skills prior to formal test sessions with USFSA Judges.
In order for skaters to move the Advanced Program, the following factors are considered:
Skating level, mastery of elements
Jumps:
Waltz Jump
Salchow
Toe Loop
Half Flip
Half Lutz
Loop
Flip
Spins:
Scratch Spin
Back Spin
Ability to work alone during freeskate/private lesson sessions
Age/maturity
Synchro team placement
Complete details on the Bismarck Figure Skating Club’s Process and Procedures for moving to the Advanced Program can be found here.
Parents and skaters are encouraged to discuss eligibility to transition to the Advanced Program with the Director of the Learn To Skate Program.
The goal of the Bridge Program is to prepare skaters for Advanced level testing, develop skills needed for the Advanced Program transition, and allow them to complete additional synchro requirements.
Each program - including Bridge - is designed to build the foundational skills required for the next program.
Aspire skaters are regularly evaluated on skating skills, maturity, ability to apply feedback and corrections, and skating knowledge. When they are close to moving to the Advanced Program based on the guidelines set for that program, they will be invited to enroll in the Bridge Program.
The Bridge program class size is limited to accommodate the best learning environment for fine-tuning these tests and skills prior to testing them before the USFSA (Advanced) Judges. If the class is currently full, students may transition into the program as spots open up throughout the year.
Skaters are eligible to transition to the Advanced Program during the Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions when ice and coaching availability allows. Transition to the Advanced Program is by Invitation ONLY.
