Olympic Spark: Fuel the Fire. Own the Moment. features more than 140 skaters performing individually and in groups, along with the nine synchronized skating teams of Capital Ice Synchronized Skating Club, including the nationally recognized Chips. Inspired by the intensity, pride, and pageantry of the Olympic Games, this year’s production captures the journey of athletes who dare to chase something bigger than themselves.
From opening ceremony energy to podium-worthy performances, Olympic Spark blends powerful storytelling with dynamic choreography. The show highlights the discipline, teamwork, and resilience that define the Olympic spirit while celebrating the heart of our own skating community. Audiences will experience high-impact synchro formations, spotlight solos, duets, trios, and large production numbers that showcase the full depth of talent within the club.
The Capital Ice Chips placed second at the 2026 Midwestern Synchronized Skating Championships, becoming the first team to earna score over 90! This will be their 15 consecutive year heading to the National Syncrhnoized Sakting Championships. Those accomplishments fuel the fire for another unforgettable season finale as the team takes the ice for their final performances of the year in front of a hometown crowd.
The show will also feature special guest skaters Leah Neset and Artem Markelov, three-time Junior National Champions, two-time Junior Grand Prix Final Champions, and 2024 World Junior Champions. During the 2025–26 season, the pair competed on the Senior Grand Prix circuit, including Skate Canada International, earned a bronze medal at the 2025 CS Kinoshita Cup, and placed eighth at the 2026 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. A proud North Dakota native, Leah grew up in Minot, making this appearance especially meaningful. These Team USA ice dancers will skate alongside our local athletes, bringing world-class talent, experience, and inspiration to the Olympic Spark stage.
The only production of its kind in the Bismarck area and one of the largest on-ice shows in the state, Olympic Spark is an original performance written, choreographed, costumed, and produced by a dedicated team of Bismarck Figure Skating Club coaches and parent volunteers under the direction of Becky Gallion. The show represents more than 500 hours of coaching and rehearsal time, bringing together athletes ranging from first-year skaters to graduating seniors taking their final bow.
Olympic Spark is more than a performance. It is a celebration of commitment, community, and the defining moments that shape young athletes. When the lights come up and the music begins, the fire is lit. The only question left is who will rise to own the moment.
